What a remap can offer

We modify and optimise engine or gearbox management parameters according to your use and your BMW's condition.

  1. More torque without changing parts

Stage 1: software mapping only; injection, boost pressure and ignition remain within the manufacturer's safety margins.

  2. An engine already modified

Stage 2: modified intake, exhaust or engine, with a remap suited to the new configuration.

  3. A more responsive automatic gearbox

Optimised D and Sport modes, torque limiter adjusted for more enjoyable driving.

  4. Correcting a poor remap

Analysis of changes made elsewhere and correction of errors in poor-quality tuning.

Our method

Individual tuning, never a generic map

Before any work, the workshop checks the vehicle's condition and confirms that the mechanical components can support the requested changes.

  1. Mandatory prior diagnostics

Reading faults and checking engine condition: remapping is only carried out on mechanically sound vehicles.

  2. Individual tuning

Engine or gearbox parameters adjusted to your vehicle and how you use it.

  3. Technical adjustments if needed

Changes to the intake (intercooler, hybrid turbos), exhaust (downpipe, complete system) and chassis or gearbox parameters to suit the configuration.

  4. Sports options

Activated on request alongside the remap.

  5. Restoring the original configuration

If you sell the car, we restore its original configuration free of charge.

BMW remap in Strasbourg: optimisation within mechanical limits

A remapped BMW gains torque and flexibility, provided that the engine, gearbox and drivetrain can cope. That is why the workshop never offers a generic map: tuning starts with the vehicle’s actual condition, any modifications and how you use it, in town and on the road.

Specialising in BMW and MINI, our Ostwald workshop also deals with remaps poorly carried out elsewhere: analysis of changes, correction of errors, then proper tuning.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers

Another question? Call the workshop on +33 9 88 04 88 11.

How much does a BMW remap cost?

The price depends on original power output: from €360 incl. VAT below 199 PS, from €420 incl. VAT from 200 to 260 PS and from €480 incl. VAT above 261 PS.

BMW Stage 1 remap or Stage 2: what is the difference?

Stage 1 changes only the software mapping, without changing parts. Stage 2 combines mechanical modifications (engine, intake, exhaust) with a remap suited to the new configuration.

Why carry out diagnostics before a remap?

To check the vehicle's condition and confirm that its mechanical components can support the changes: remapping a worn engine accelerates its wear.

Can the original configuration be restored?

Yes: if you want to sell the car, we restore its original configuration free of charge.
